In 1919, Frederick “Fritz” Pollard became one of the first African American Players to play in the NFL. One year after making his debut he lead his team (The Akron Pro’s) to there first ever NFL championship game. The following year he would take on the task as head coach and player for the same team. This made Pollard technically the first African American coach in the NFL. Check out the video about his life below!!!
