A Stockton, California mother came up with an innovative way to discipline her son who was suspended from school for 5 days.
After Nyia Williams found out her son Amaurryon Johnson would be out of school for 5 days she took a different route. Instead of taking away things he enjoyed like his phone or other electronic devices she decided to put him to work.
“I just thought of something, you know what can I do for my son as a punishment,” Williams, a mother of four, told Sacramento, California’s Fox 40 Saturday.
“My yard is already done, he’s done the yard perfect all summer since the first time he’s got suspended,” she said. “So I said, you know what? We’re going to go outside of our house and start helping other people.”
Williams took to Facebook to offer up her son’s lawn mowing services for people who needed it. Soon, requests poured in by the dozens.
“I really appreciate this from [my mom], I don’t really know what to say,” Amaurryon told the local news station. “After doing one or two I started easing into it, I started liking it.”
