Music Icon Uncle Luke has huge problem with Jay-Z’s picks for the super bowl halftime show. He used Instagram to air out his grievances about Jay-Z’s picks to headline the event which are Jennifer Lopez and Shakira. Especially since the super bowl is in Miami, Luke’s hometown.
“Hold the f… on,” begins the former leader of 2 Live Crew in a Sept. 26 Instagram video. “I’m so pissed right now that I really want to use some profanity but I got a lot of kids that follow me on Instagram I’ve noticed these days. So all of a sudden, the NFL, y’all gon’ bring in J. Lo and somebody else and just totally disrespect all the African-American entertainment in Miami. So, we don’t exist?
“It ain’t about me, I don’t want to perform,” he went on. “But you wanna bring J. Lo and the other girl and I don’t even know where she from. Nobody from Miami. We got world-class entertainment here. I would have thought you had sense to go and get Pit Bull, Flo Rida or [Rick] Ross or somebody, Trick Daddy or something. Really? You’re gonna bring in those two people — you’re gonna rape the town of all of our money, and then gonna bring us — We don’t need the NFL, our hotels are already filled up. Jay-Z, you gon’ fix the s–t! I’m just keeping it one hunnid!”
Jay was appointed as the NFL’s “live music and entertainment strategist” in August, and, as such, he and his entertainment company Roc Nation are in charge of putting together the halftime show. It seems Jay sifted through his roster of Roc Nation signees and got Shakira on board to join J.Lo, who has long been asked if she would perform during what is typically the most-watched televised event of the year.
